According to Robert S. Woodworth, “Motivation is the state of the individual which disposes them to certain behaviour for seeking goal.”
We all need structure, support, clarity and a cheer squad to keep us moving through the hard times. EVERYONE experiences peaks and troughs of motivation. This is not a flaw, this is a part of the human experience that we all face.
That structure, support and clarity can be what helps you find the consistency we all need during these peaks and troughs.
It would be great if we were all permanently motivated to get the work done and achieve what we set out to, but it simply doesn't work that way. So this is when I encourage you to lean into that structure that we will establish versus dropping in and out of the inconsistency that is motivation.
Changing your body (and keeping changed) is largely a psychological and emotional journey with a physical outcome, which is why support is often so crucial. This is why I like to work with the person first, and their body second.
